Job Title: Chief Estimator – Commercial General Contractor

Our client, a reputable commercial general contractor in Calgary, is seeking a highly experienced Chief Estimator to join their team. As the Chief Estimator, you will play a key role in leading the estimating team and ensuring accurate and timely project estimates for commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the estimating team, providing guidance and mentorship.

Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to develop detailed cost estimates.

Analyze project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine project scope and requirements.

Prepare comprehensive and competitive bid proposals.

Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate pricing.

Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and labor rates.

Participate in pre-construction meetings and site visits.

Provide accurate and timely estimates for new projects and change orders.

Maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Qualifications:

Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.

Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs.

Proficiency in estimating software and tools.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

A Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is preferred.
