Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Arborist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for tree care, landscape maintenance, and horticulture, with a strong focus on safety and environmental stewardship. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions to maintain healthy, safe, and aesthetically pleasing trees and landscapes. The Arborist will utilize specialized equipment and techniques to prune, remove, and care for trees while ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry best practices.
Duties
- Perform tree pruning, trimming, and removal using rigging techniques and bucket trucks
- Operate bucket trucks and other aerial lift equipment safely and efficiently
- Climbing and rigging
- Implement horticultural best practices to promote healthy growth of trees and plants
- Assist with storm damage cleanup and emergency tree services as needed
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including species identification and health assessments
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or injuries during operations
- You will travel to customer sites within the province of outside of the province as well
Qualifications
- Relevant certifications such as (UTT) Utility Tree Trimmer or Certified Utility Arborist (CUA) required (ISA) Certified Arborist is desirable but not mandatory
- First Aid
- CSTS
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred
- minimum of 5 years in the Vegetation Management Industry
- experience and knowledge of climbing, rigging techniques, bucket operation, and chipper.
- Strong understanding of horticulture principles and plant health care
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely in outdoor environments
- Excellent physical fitness with the ability to work at heights and lift heavy objects as required.
