We are seeking a skilled Cerner Application Support Specialist with expertise in Cerner Security to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting Cerner Millennium projects, providing security-related incident resolution, and troubleshooting Cerner application functionalities. The role involves working closely with various teams to ensure smooth and secure operations within Cerner environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Cerner Application Support:
- Provide specialized support for Cerner Core and Cerner Security components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve security-related incidents, ensuring smooth functionality of Cerner applications.
- Configure and troubleshoot Cerner functionalities and components, specifically within the security domain.
- Utilize build tools such as Privmaint, Prefmaint, and Configuration Manager for security setup and maintenance.
Implementation and Troubleshooting:
- Lead or assist with the implementation of Cerner Millennium security configurations, including roles, positions, and privileges.
- Perform complex troubleshooting investigations and document findings in detailed knowledge articles.
- Ensure timely project delivery by gathering requirements, defining the scope of work, and planning security configurations.
Cerner Security and Access Management:
- Maintain and configure Cerner Security Privileges, Application Groups, and HNAUser access.
- Utilize tools like Tracking Shell, taskaccess, preferencemanager, and corecodebuilder to manage security-related build tasks.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of user roles and positions, ensuring proper access rights are assigned and monitored.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Provide regular updates and feedback to clients and stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Collaborate with global teams and adapt to changes in technology and security standards.
Adaptability and Continuous Learning:
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in Cerner Millennium Security and healthcare IT.
- Learn new tools and technologies to keep pace with the evolving landscape of healthcare systems.
Shift Flexibility:
- Be available for on-call support, including working odd hours, weekends, and shifts as required to ensure security compliance and smooth operations.
Required Skills:
- Cerner Security Expertise:
- Proficient in Cerner Core and Security components, with experience configuring and troubleshooting security privileges, positions, and roles.
- In-depth knowledge of tools such as Privmaint, Prefmaint, Configuration Manager, HNAUser, taskaccess, preferencemanager, and corecodebuilder.
- Experience with security-related build processes, including Organizer and Chart Level security configurations.
- Cerner Millennium Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of how user positions and roles are created, maintained, and monitored in Cerner environments.
- Expertise in managing Privileges and Preferences within Cerner applications.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external clients.
- Ability to work independently on time-sensitive tasks while managing multiple priorities.
- Willingness to work shifts and be available for on-call support during non-standard hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with global teams in a healthcare IT environment is a plus.
