The Nunavut Film Development Corporation is seeking a qualified individual to help promote and support the growth of the screen-based industry in the territory of Nunavut, across Canada and internationally.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight of the corporation including the implementation of business and strategic plans; managing funding processes; managing the Nunavut Film office; establishing effective partnerships; and the growth of Nunavut’s screen-based industry.

As the corporation employs a small but efficient staff, to be considered for this position, you should have a working knowledge of the media industry in Nunavut and Canada, be highly organized, and with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. The CEO leads Nunavut Film’s activities and advocacy while also establishing working relationships with other funders and stakeholders. Other skills required are a strong understanding of cloud-based file management, administration and HR management and skills, the ability to evaluate and manage projects and budgets, financial management, the ability to develop strategic projects and programs to advance Nunavut’s screen industry, strong writing skills, and experience in writing funding proposals. The successful candidate will receive a two-year Mentorship, offering professional development, education, and training in the position’s responsibilities

  • Fluency in Inuktut an asset.
  • Priority consideration to Inuit beneficiaries
  • Salary – $140,000 per annum depending on experience
  • Ability to travel is essential
  • Please note there is no staff housing provided for this position.
