Job Title: Category Manager
Length: 8 Month Contract (Potential for Extension)
Location: Mississauga/ Burlington/ Guelph/ Calgary (1-3 days in office at either of the locations)
Rate: $60-70/hour (T4), $80-100/hour (INC)
The Category Manager will play a key role in developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives across Non-IT procurement categories, with a primary focus on Claims (autobody repairs, professional services, legal, staff augmentation, marketing, HR, business services, facilities & real estate).
This role will collaborate closely with the Claims Vendor Management team to optimize sourcing strategies for a spend portfolio of $300-400M.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead category strategies, conduct market research, and optimize procurement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams, align sourcing decisions with business needs, and provide market intelligence.
- Drive contracting efforts, support risk mitigation, and ensure adherence to procurement policies.
- Identify savings opportunities, manage supplier relationships, and improve operational processes.
- Work alongside strengthening strategic procurement capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) in Business, Supply Chain, or related fields.
- 10+ years in sourcing & procurement, with expertise in key NON-IT categories.
- Strong analytical abilities, stakeholder management, contract negotiation, and vendor relationship management.
- Financial Services/Insurance experience preferred but not required.
