About the Canada Impact + Research Chairs Program

The Canada Impact+ Research Chairs program is a one-time initiative designed to support institutions in attracting world-leading researchers to address critical national and global challenges. The program emphasizes both research excellence and tangible impact. Impact+ Chairs will receive long-term funding and institutional supports that advance ambitious and transformative projects in Canada's strategic priority areas , build and maintain exceptional research teams, and collaborate with partners across sectors and borders. Impact+ chairholders will drive the translation of discoveries into applications, commercialization and social and economic benefits for Canada and the world, and develop the next generation of highly qualified personnel.

Ontario Tech University invites applications for full-time, faculty positions to advance transformational health science research programs that support the growth of the Canadian economy in the fields of neuroscience and AI, or bioinformatics (targeting health applications).

The nominee's research area must demonstrably align with one or more of the categories listed above. The Impact+ Chairs are valued at $1 million per year or $500,000 per year for eight years.

The Impact+ nomination is a two-stage process where applicants first apply to this job posting. Successful applicants then work with our institution to submit a nomination to the Impact+ Research Chairs program. The university will support successful nominees throughout the development of their applications. This position is subject to budgetary approval.
