THE ROLE:

Join our team to develop and maintain an advanced IP lifecycle management system that supports hardware design workflows in a dynamic, innovative-driven environment. Our Central CAD team at AMD establishes standards and techniques for designing chips that deliver high performance, cost efficiency, and low power usage. We automate these best practices into software design flows for consistency and efficiency, collaborating with design teams to build next-generation GPUs, CPUs, and APUs using industry-standard EDA tools.

THE PERSON:

We seek individuals who demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and strong problem-solving skills. You work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and you communicate clearly while collaborating with colleagues across multiple locations and time zones. You are eager to learn and incorporate emerging technologies, including AI, into your daily work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborating with the IPLM project lead to deploying, configuring, and providing long-term support for the Perforce IPLM platform serving semiconductor design teams.
  • Implement IPLM integration with multiple systems, including Perforce Helix Core, Git, NFS, and other design data sources.
  • Design and implement enterprise-grade infrastructure, including high availability, disaster recovery, edge servers, proxies, and cloud backup.
  • Administer integration middleware (PiServer) and distributed caching infrastructure.
  • Work closely with CAD infrastructure, Perforce vendor, IT, and design stakeholders to meet technical requirements.
  • Support broader CAD infrastructure projects and develop automation to improve design workflows.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining complex distributed infrastructure, including HA/DR, edge servers, proxies, multi-site deployments, and enterprise backup solutions.
  • Solid working knowledge of Perforce Helix Core administration.
  • Strong Linux/Unix system administration and scripting skills (Python, Bash, shell scripting).
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to enhance productivity, generate code/scripts, troubleshoot issues, and automate workflows.
  • Experience leading technical implementations, collaborating with vendors, and driving complex projects to completion.
  • Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Background in semiconductor, ASIC/FPGA design, or hardware engineering infrastructure is highly desirable.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
