Job Description <p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Responsibilities </strong> </p><p><br /> </p><p>· <strong>Guide clients through their biggest business decisions </strong> - from choosing the right entity structure and incorporation to navigating acquisitions, reorganizations, and succession planning. </p><p>· <strong>Draft and negotiate the agreements that matter </strong> - shareholder agreements, partnership deals, purchase contracts, lending transactions, and security agreements that actually protect your clients' interests. </p><p>· <strong>Think strategically about tax and estate implications </strong> - because the best business lawyers understand how corporate moves affect personal wealth and family planning. </p><p>· <strong>Collaborate with our integrated teams </strong> - work with our estate and litigation lawyers (and future family law group) to deliver seamless solutions when clients' needs cross-practice boundaries. </p><p>· <strong>Own your practice </strong> - manage your files using our tech stack (CosmoLex and MinuteBox) with admin support, but take real accountability for deadlines and follow-through without needing to be micromanaged. </p><p>· <strong>Build the department's future </strong> - actively nurture existing relationships while identifying opportunities to grow our client base in ways that align with our values. </p><p><br /> </p><p><strong>Qualifications </strong> </p><p><br /> </p><p>· <strong>The legal foundation </strong> - JD or LLB from an accredited school, admission to the Law Society of Alberta in good standing (Internationally trained lawyers absolutely welcome-we value diverse perspectives). </p><p>· <strong>Real business law experience </strong> - at least 2 years (including articling) where you've worked on corporate governance, transactions, business formations, or similar matters. </p><p>· <strong>Business development mindset </strong> - you are someone who gets things done and actively looks for ways to grow relationships and expand opportunities, not just wait for work to come to you. </p><p>· <strong>Client-first mindset </strong> - you understand that legal work is ultimately about serving people's goals, not just executing perfect documents. </p><p>· </p> </p>Company Description<p>W3Global was established in 2006 in Fremont, CA with a vision: simplify the recruiting process and develop an industry-disrupting platform to connect candidates with clients.
