Business Development Representative

Job Description

Techmation Electric & Controls Ltd. is currently seeking a Business Development Representative for our Saskatchewan clients. This position will be responsible for expanding Techmation’s client base in Saskatchewan, with a strong emphasis on potash, mining, and industrial markets. This role focuses on building relationships, identifying opportunities, and positioning Techmation as a preferred electrical and instrumentation service provider. Candidates must be based in or near Saskatoon or Regina and be able to travel regularly to project sites, client offices, and industry events. This is an opportunity to help drive Techmation’s growth in a key expanding market.


Job Responsibilities



  • Develop and execute a business development strategy to grow Techmation’s presence in the Saskatchewan potash and mining sectors

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with mining operators, EPCs, engineering firms, and industrial clients

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and industry partners

  • Collaborate with operations, estimating, and project management teams to support bids, proposals, and client presentations

  • Conduct regular site visits, attend meetings, and participate in trade shows or networking events across the province

  • Gather and share market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to support strategic planning

  • Promote Techmation’s full suite of electrical and instrumentation services, maintenance programs, and construction capabilities

  • Ensure all business development activities align with Techmation’s safety, quality, and customer service standards


Qualifications



  • Experience in business development, sales, or account management within a related field (IE. Industrial, Construction, Mining, Electrical or Instrumentation sector)

  • Strong understanding of potash or mining industries in Saskatchewan would be considered an asset

  • Technical knowledge or Electrical and Instrumentation services would be considered an asset

  • Proven ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with clients at all levels

  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently with support from regional leadership

  • Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel regularly within Saskatchewan
