Job Description

Overview:
Sheriff Corporation is the landlord and owner of office, commercial & industrial properties in the GTA area Head office is located in Vaughan.

We are seeking  Building Operators to join our Team.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, mechanical and life safety systems and facilities.
  • Respond to tenant service calls such as changing lights, heating/cooling calls etc., in a timely and professional manner.
  • Oversee the appearance and safety of the property.
  • Operate Building Automation and Security computer systems.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions/recommendations.
  • Oversee subcontractors and ensure they abide by building guidelines.
  • Communicate with Operations Supervisor/Property Management on building and tenant issues.
  • Ability to work staggered hours to suit the needs of building occupants as well as statutory holidays, weekends, and overtime as required/assigned, or when participating in regular standby rotation schedule to respond to emergencies, callouts, equipment failures, and breakdowns.
  • Perform hands-on general cleaning, plumbing and electrical, painting, carpentry and HVAC repairs along with other miscellaneous as required.
  • Obtain quotes, order materials/supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in building operations.
  • Experience in a commercial/office/industrial environment.
  • Familiar with safety and fire codes and WHMIS procedures.
  • Proactive in identifying problems and resolving them.
  • Knowledge of all facets of building operations and maintenance.
  • Team player and can also work independently.
