Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team in Brampton. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, upkeep, and safety of the facility by performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong problem-solving abilities and knowledge of building systems, safety protocols, and preventative maintenance procedures.

Key Responsibilities


  • Promote a safe working environment by adhering to Health & Safety regulations, the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and Environmental Management System policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily inspections of building systems, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and structural components, addressing any identified issues promptly.
  • Identify and resolve potential issues before they lead to major breakdowns.
  • Repair minor electrical problems, such as faulty switches and broken light fixtures.
  • Handle plumbing issues, including leaky faucets, clogged drains, and pipe repairs.
  • Repair doors, windows, flooring, and drywall as required.
  • Address HVAC concerns by replacing filters and troubleshooting temperature control issues.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of common areas, exterior grounds, parking lots, and sidewalks.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance and service calls, taking necessary corrective actions.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring timely replacement and restocking.
  • Oversee and coordinate external contractors for major repair projects.
  • Ensure building operations align with safety regulations and building codes.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Technical certifications in HVAC, electrical, or a related field preferred.


Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using basic tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, health and safety practices, and regulations.
