Job Description

<p>Key Responsibilities:</p><ul><li>Liquid Vacuum Trucks – Drive and perform major duties independently including the liquid transfer of material from one vessel to another location</li><li>Turbo Vacuum Trucks – Drive and perform major duties with the assistance of a Utility Operator</li><li>Understand and complete required documentation such as waste manifests, bills of lading etc.</li><li>Responsible for obtaining and completing customer safe work permits and any additional required documents for hauling materials</li><li>Perform the set-up and take down of equipment required for the job</li><li>Perform the vacuuming of actual material from the job site</li><li>Advise the Utility Operator on the proper equipment needed on the truck to complete the job (i.e. hoses, fittings etc.)</li><li>Conduct pre-trip inspection of each vehicle (i.e. check fluid levels, oil, anti-freeze etc.)</li><li>Diagnose and report any vehicle mechanical issues to the mechanic</li><li>Conduct yard checks</li><li>Provide input and recommendations to management on processes and procedures</li><li>Perform general housekeeping on a daily basis</li><li>Other assignments as directed by the Supervisor / Foreman</li></ul><p>Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:</p><ul><li>High School Diploma</li><li>DZ license is required, AZ license is an asset</li><li>Clean drivers abstract</li><li>1-3 years of work experience in a related field is required</li><li>Experience with the function, repair and maintenance of vacuum and transfer pumps and industrial equipment is an asset</li><li>Experience with the safe handling of hazardous waste and chemicals and safety regulations</li><li>Ability to follow road regulations and rules / procedures at customer sites</li><li>Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting</li><li>Good customer service skills with an ability to speak and write in English</li><li>Effective problem-solving skills</li><li>Current safety training (WHMIS, IEC Contractor Safety, Transportation of Dangerous Goods)</li><li>Basic mechanical knowledge</li><li>Basic knowledge of Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook</li><li>Majority of the work is local and in an outside environment</li></ul><h2>GFLTalent</h2>
