<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: <br /><p>ADDICTION WELLNESS ADVISOR Full Time</p><p>Prince Albert, Saskatchewan</p><p></p><p>We are seeking a qualified and experienced Addiction Wellness Advisor to join our dynamic healthcare team. The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority is a proactive and growing healthcare organization that provides health program support to its four northern partners: Prince Albert Grand Council, Meadow Lake Tribal Council, Lac La Ronge Indian Band, and Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation.</p><p></p><p>POSITION MANDATE</p><p>The Addictions Wellness Advisor is responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies related to the Substance Use and Addiction program. This position supports NITHAs second-level service providers and works collaboratively with the four NITHA partners to develop a comprehensive framework and model of service delivery that encompasses prevention, assessment, education, intervention, treatment, and aftercare for substance use and addiction. The Addictions Wellness Advisor will work closely with the NITHA Mental Wellness Advisor and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and promote harm reduction strategies, relapse prevention, and long-term sobriety.</p><p></p><p><span >QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE</span></p><p>Our ideal candidate will be an innovative professional with the following skills, knowledge, and abilities:</p><ul><li>Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field from a recognized university or a relevant field. A Masters degree will be an asset.</li><li>Must be eligible or registered with a professional licensing body in Addictions Counselling, such as CADC, CACCF, CCAC, ACHP or equivalent.</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of combined experience that reflects work in the areas of substance use and addiction.</li><li>Certification in ASIST or CISM, or related training, and/or be willing to become certified.</li><li>Familiarity with evidence-based treatment modalities such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and 12-Step Facilitation.</li><li>Ability to apply knowledge of best practices related to models of care, research, and trends in the field of substance use and addictions.</li><li>Knowledge of harm reduction, relapse prevention, and trauma-informed care approaches.</li><li>Maintains positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, exercising diplomacy, judgement and tact.</li><li>Provide evidence of previous proposal/policy framework development.</li><li>Knowledge of community development.</li><li>Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.</li><li>Experience working respectfully with First Nations people and organizations and demonstrating cultural awareness, sensitivity, and competency.</li><li>Advanced computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Professional, desktop publishing, and Windows.</li><li>A valid Class 5 drivers license is required.</li></ul><p></p><p>NITHA has a competitive salary/benefits package.
