<h3>General Description</h3>
<ul>
<li>The Construction Officer Level 3 acts as a construction site coordinator and inspector on multiple or large civil, electrical, and/or mechanical projects to ensure the work, materials, progress, and cost meet BC Hydro expectations.</li>

<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<h3>Experience and Role Accountabilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>A minimum of seven (7) years of construction experience or equivalent.</li>
<li>Inspect construction work on substations, transmission lines, and hydroelectric equipment, utilizing excellent inspection skills and understanding of construction methods to meet deadlines and comply with safety and building codes.</li>
<li>Prioritize site safety by performing Safe Work Observations and adhering to safety standards and regulations to improve safety performance.</li>
<li>Coordinate site testing, surveying, and estimating activities, using good knowledge of engineering drawings to enable timely project progression. Conditions may include adverse weather and working at heights or underground.</li>
<li>Support contract and work order administration by collaborating with contractors and internal teams to ensure work, materials, progress, and costs meet expectations, ensuring project plans are followed.</li>
<li>Provide expert advice on complex technical issues to develop future capabilities.</li>
<li>Respond to internal and third-party construction inquiries professionally, utilizing excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<h3>Must Have:</h3>
<ul>
<li>10+ years of experience in a civil trade, such as heavy equipment operation, or completion of a National Diploma of Technology in Civil Engineering.</li>
<li>Valid Class 5 driver’s license.</li>
<li>Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel.</li>
<li>Willingness to work at various remote sites throughout BC.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Nice to Have:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Intermediate First Aid Certification.</li>
<li>Experience with substation and/or road construction.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Site Safety Coordination and Multi-Employer Workplace WorkSafe regulations.</li>
<li>Contract management knowledge.</li>
</ul>
