Job Overview

The Inside Claims Representative I & II contributes to Wawanesa’s goal of delivering an exceptional and consistent claims experience through the fair and equitable adjustment of small to moderate auto claims by means of telephone and written correspondence.

  • MUST BE AVAILABLE to work 8:00 am to 4:30 pm MST (Alberta time zone), Monday to Friday

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Interpret policy wordings, determine policy coverage and ensure appropriate reserving
  • Investigate losses to determine liability
  • Evaluate relevant information from sources such as appraisers, third party adjusters, contractors and repair facilities in order to quantify losses
  • Negotiate with insureds, claimants, lawyers and insurers
  • Coordinate services with vendors and service providers
  • Adjust claims from inception to completion in a proactive manner
  • Maintain accurate records based on company standards and policies within the claims system
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Must have customer service and office experience
  • Insurance/claims adjusting experience is not a requirement but considered an asset
  • Post-secondary education is preferred (Degree, diploma and/or insurance related certification)
  • Effective customer service skills demonstrating empathy and concern for customer satisfaction
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Demonstrated investigative, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry
  • MUST BE AVAILABLE to work 8:00 am to 4:30 pm MST (Alberta time zone), Monday to Friday

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • Must have office/customer service related experience
  • Must be available to work the core business hours 8:00 am to 4:30 pm MST, Monday to Friday (Alberta Time Zone)
