ResponsibilitiesThe primary responsibility of the Application Engineer (Mechanical) is the support of the company’s Regional Engineering customers. Typical day-to-day tasks may include the sizing and selection of drives, technical product support, design of custom product variants, production support, and training. Support and training is not limited to external customers but may include inside/outside salespersons, production staff, external vendors, purchasing, and other departments and regions as needed.

The role of Applications Engineer (Mechanical) requires a candidate with at least 3-5 years of work experience in a similar role. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design of machined components and will know how to read/interpret fabrication drawings. Experience dealing with external machine shops for the purpose of fabricating parts or personal experience with the fabrication of machined parts would be beneficial.
A four-year university degree in mechanical engineering is ideal, but not required. P.Eng. or P.Eng eligibility is an asset.
All candidates with have a strong background in design, statics/dynamics and materials will be considered.
Supplementary courses in electrical engineering and/or mechatronics would be beneficial.
Excellent computer skills (spreadsheets, word processing, general computer skills).
Good hands-on knowledge to be/become a SolidWorks expert.
Must have working knowledge and experience with SolidWorks.
Any/all industrial automation experience would be an asset.
