By joining the Amazon Flex team you will become a part of the Ready workforce. This means you will have the flexibility to build your own schedule each week, by selecting from the available shifts. Onsite training will be provided and will consist of: (please update individual hours based on JD classification below)Reduced Time Flex- three, ten-hour training sessions during your first week of employment. Here are some additional details about the Ready program.
Shifts are usually between 3-5 hours in length and you can work just one shift per day or up to 12 hours per day. This is a More Time Ready role that only requires you to work a minimum of 30 hours per week but you can work more hours each week if you would like. Shifts are typically available throughout the week and weekends on both day or night shifts based on business need. You will use an Amazon associate app to view and pick up the shifts Shifts where our customers need you the most can have a high demand hourly premium added to it, so you will be earning your base wage and the additional hourly incentive. Here are some of the things you’ll get to do with us: Receive and put away inventory Get customer orders ready and pack them up Load boxes into trucks for shipment Work around moving machines like order pickers, forklifts, mobile carts, and possibly robots! Use scanners to scan bar codes on products
Here’s more about what it’s like inside the warehouse: Your safety is important to us. We’ll give you protective gear, such as a facial covering and safety vest to wear. Temperature checks are being conducted at sites around the Canada. Anyone registering a temperature over the recommended 38°C / 100.4F will be asked to return home and only come back to work after they’ve gone three days without a fever. Associates are expected to follow social distancing guidelines, participate in safety exercises such as daily stretching, and share safety tips with co-workers.You will work around moving machines.You’ll be on the move for your whole shift. Your shifts will include standing in one place for long periods, walking around, and climbing stairs. You will need to wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes.Even with climate controls, temperatures in some parts of our warehouses may vary between 15°C / 60°F  and 32°C / 90°F.It can get noisy. We will give you hearing protection, if you need it.The dress code is relaxed with a few rules to follow for safety.
You will also need to be able to: Lift up to 22 kilograms / 49 pounds
Push utility carts up to 27 kilograms / 60 pounds
Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during long shiftsUse special warehouse equipment like carts, dollies, hand trucks, etc. to move stuff around Use special equipment like large printers, binding equipment, and CD/DVD machines to burn content onto discs.
