JOB STATUS & DURATION:  Temporary 12-months

HOURS OF WORK:  35 hour workweek

LOCATION:  The City of Brampton has implemented a gradual reintegration of staff into the workplace.  Beginning on April 4, 2022, onsite work location of two (2) days a week will commence.  Beginning on July 4, 2022, this will increase to three (3) days a week. There will be continued opportunities for hybrid work from September 2022 onwards, and we’ll continue to evaluate to determine which hybrid model works best.  Once working onsite, you will report to the location of City Hall – West Tower.


HIRING SALARY RANGE:  $82,748.00 – $93,092.00 per annum

MAXIMUM OF SALARY RANGE:  $103,435.00 per annum

Reporting to Team Lead, IT, perform security administration for all information technology platforms and processes including corporate network, email various business applications access control. Provide administration support and consultation services for all IT security technologies implemented to protect the corporation and its employees.

  • Proactively monitors IT security enforcement solutions to ensure compliance with the corporate IT Use Policy, identifying infractions and taking appropriate action.
  • Coordinates response and investigation activities related to IT security incidents. Assembles the response team, analyzes risk, prepares a plan of action and resolves issues.
  • Participates on project teams as an IT security resource to assist in the research, selection, evaluation and implementation of technology solutions towards ensuring the protection of the Corporate computing environment.
  • Executes security administration tasks related to corporate digital identities directory. Executes security administration tasks related to corporate email system.
  • Administers and maintains corporate file access processes.
  • Participates in teams developing and implementing corporate request for access processes.
  • Provides administrative support to the Network and Technical Services staff in maintaining the day to day operations of the computing environment.
  • Maintains statistics on type and volume of activities executed, logging and tracking all administration requests.
  • Creates and maintains administration documentation.
  • Proactively conducts IT security risk and vulnerability assessments for new and existing IT infrastructure elements (network/systems/applications/services.
  • Executes confidential requests related to IT access control processes.
  • Administers IT security awareness program using the IT security management tool.


  • University degree/diploma in Computer Science or equivalent;


  • 3 – 5 years progressive experience in IT security technologies with a demonstrated security related initiatives, skills and expertise


  • Superior report writing and verbal communications skills required as well as an ability to work independently and in a team environment.
